So I know this blog is INCREDIBLY overdue, but it's okay. Better late than never! I really just want to take some time to recognize the best summer of my life and how it has changed me for life (in a good way).
This summer has definitely been summer of the MUSIC. If I counted correctly, I attended 12 concerts and attempted to attend 13 (Preservation Pub are just meanies). All of these concerts were local talent, and one of them was a benefit which I helped put on with my lovely friends. My family now calls me a groupie, but we prefer the term band-aid haha. The best things at a concert hands down is how you can feel the passion of a musician and their love. It's almost tangible and one of the most beautiful things in this life, I believe.
Along with going to amazing concerts, I went on 3 road trips with my lovely ladies. First, a slightly random, sporadic trip to Nashville. Second, a trip to Asheville for Bele Chere Festival and more specifically THE DIRTY GUV'NAHS. (If you have never heard them, shame on you. This was the best concert of the summer in my opinion.) Then we all packed up and went to the beach. Who doesn't love the beach? No one.
Probably one of the most important parts of the summer was finding a new church! Knoxlife Church is just amazing. I feel so at home there, and all the people are lovely. I feel like that's where God wants me, so that's where I'll be :)
All of this is almost too much awesome for one person to handle, and it wouldn't have been nearly as fun without my best friends.
Stacie- I couldn't be more happy that we are partners in crime again. I can't even put a finger on the best time of this summer with you. Distance isn't going to keep us apart because I'm just not gonna allow it!
Gabi- You are soooo much fun! Just being around you makes me feel more fun and adventurous. Again I am soooo glad we are friends again!
Brendal- I love you to death! You always keeping me in check with reality, but you let me dream a little bit, too!
Sarah- I'm so glad that we met this summer. You are so bold and confident, and I really hope that rubs off on me :)
So now heading back to Jeff City tomorrow, I feel like I am coming back way more experienced. I have been actually keeping to a New Year's Resolution: live life. I've lived this summer with spontaneity and no regrets, and it couldn't be better.
